Statement
As your Mayor, I champion public safety, housing, homelessness, economic development, and mental health advancements for Spokane. I am a convenor and collaborator who engages broad perspectives to bring balance and practicality to meet community expectations. I believe that local issues must be addressed through bringing stakeholders together and involving the community to find agreeable and realistic solutions. During my first term I brought the City Council together on outlawing drugs in public spaces and changing zoning ordinances creating more affordable housing. The State passed legislation similar to both, following Spokane’s lead.
