Washington state has highest gas prices in the country

Washington state currently has the highest gas prices in the country, according to data by AAA.

The average price of regular gas in the state is $4.912, while the national average sits at $3.577. The west side of the state carries the heaviest gas prices, while Chelan County is above the state average at $4.934 and Douglas County falls below the state average at $4.795.

Grant and Okanogan Counties are both above the state average, with Grant County gas prices at $4.939 and Okanogan County at $4.982.

Even though the state currently carries the highest prices, the current average falls below numbers from this time last year, which hit over $5.543.
